Join us for a fun and festive open studio in honor of Halloween! We'll have craft stations on theme, including real mini pumpkins to decorate (limit one per person).

Projects are geared toward ages 5-12, but fun for adults, too! Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Get into the Halloween spirit with a next-level pumpkin carve! This workshop is a fun introduction to the techniques of sculptural pumpkin carving. Students will receive guidance on the ideal pumpkins and tools for this style of carving, and will learn through both detailed demonstration and then guided carving of their own project. This class is great for beginners and veteran artists alike. The instructor will provide individual attention within the context of a supportive class environment. Students will bring their own pumpkin to the workshop and leave with a seasonal and whimsical piece of art to display. (Ages 16+)

Most tools are provided. Students provide their own large pumpkin, at least 11 inches in diameter.

In this workshop we explore the meditative rhythm of lino-cut block printing. Participants will carve a simple, repeatable design into soft linoleum and hand-print it onto paper and cotton tea towels. The carving process is slow and satisfying, and the printing reveal is always a little magical. Designs can be bold and graphic or delicate and minimal.

Materials included.

Sometimes you just need to make something with your hands and not overthink it. In this relaxed, low-stakes workshop we’ll design and silk-screen bold, graphic imagery onto canvas tote bags. Choose from pre-made designs or create your own simple motif, then pull your own prints using professional screens and fabric ink. Expect a satisfying process, inky hands, and a functional finished piece. (Ages 16+)

Learn the ancient Japanese art of suminagashi - floating ink on water to create stunning marbled papers. Create multiple decorative sheets that can later be used for cards, book covers, or more, as well as a small wooden picture frame keepsake.

Ages 18+

All DIGITAL camera types are welcome, including cell phone cameras.

Fall invites us to notice transition—the shifting light, changing colors, falling leaves, and the gradual turning inward of the natural world. This two-hour workshop introduces photography as a mindful, reflective practice. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, participants are guided to slow down, observe deeply, and create images rooted in presence and personal meaning. Through simple mindfulness practices, guided photography exercises, and time to photograph and reflect, we'll explore light, texture, color, and emotion while considering the themes of transition, letting go, turning inward, and finding signs of hope and possibility as one season gives way to the next. Based on the Look Again methodology, in which Melissa is a certified practitioner, the workshop encourages participants to reconnect with the joy of seeing and use photography as a tool for awareness, reflection, and connection. No photography experience is necessary. Students will leave with printed photographs from their experience.

Sculpt small decorative designs with polymer clay using simple shapes and texture tools and adhere magnets to bring whimsy to metal and magnetic surfaces! All materials provided. Pieces not baked in class will be available to pick up at the studio throughout the following week. (Ages 16+)
