Create your own tiny world using a cookie box as the base for a house or hideaway! Add dimension with papier-mâché, paint, and clay to bring your miniature scene to life.

Students explore visual storytelling through the creation of comics! They develop characters, panels, and narrative flow while learning composition, gesture, and expression.

Relaxed workshop for beginners to advanced. Create figure studies or busts using a life model. Work on your own ideas using photos or sketches or follow a formal course of instruction. Works can be fired. Model fee and clay included. Students under 18 welcome but you and your parent/guardian must obtain instructor permission prior to enrollment. Need a night out!? Drop off your young artist at Emma’s Art Studio for three hours of creative exploration, imaginative play, and hands-on artmaking while you enjoy an evening in Bethesda.

Drop-Off Open Studio is a relaxed but thoughtfully guided creative environment where children can explore high-quality art materials, experiment with new techniques, and create at their own pace. Instead of following a single step-by-step project, students choose from a curated selection of drawing materials, paint, collage supplies, sculptural media, art books, and creative tools that spark curiosity and imagination.

An experienced art educator is always present to offer demonstrations, encouragement, and guidance when needed—helping children build confidence while still allowing the freedom that makes open studio time so special. This program is ideal for curious, creative kids who enjoy independence, experimentation, and making art their own way.

Alatri Bros will be providing cheese pizza for the group. Please let us know in advance if your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions. You are also welcome to send your child with their own nut-free dinner if preferred.
